Wild Space celebrates over three decades of creating dance for Milwaukee audiences. Under the artistic direction of Debra Loewen, the company creates and produces new innovative, site-based performances in city locations, offering audiences an opportunity to experience dance and the richness of place and occasion, in Milwaukee’s cultural landscape.  

 

Place and proximity define relationships: performers with one another; performers in relationship to their environment; and performers in relationship to audience.  Wild Space gathers people together to experience dance where they least expect it; an empty swimming pool, dancing off the side of a chimney smokestack, rafting with fire in the Menomonee River, dancing with goats in the Goat Palace, from parking lots to rooftops. The watcher joins the dance.
